Initiative of the Month
Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) is all set to join in the Akshaya Campaign activities in Kollam District. Kottarakkara block in the district will be taken up as ‘Model Area’ by NYK for the purpose. The decision was taken at a meeting between Akshaya District Project Office and NYK District Office. On behalf of Akshaya Centres in the district Nehru Yuva Kendra will organize camps to determine blood group. Based on this blood donors forum will be formed with the aim to develop Akshaya Centres as Local Resource Centres. More..
 
Centre of the Week
The Akshaya Centre at Poruvazhy in Kollam District opened doors to welcome a new batch of students – from Assam. They came here on a cultural exchange programme organized by Poruvazhy Grama Panchayath and Sathyachitra Social Service Society. Excitement was seen in the faces of fifteen member youth team when entrepreneur R. Vibhudevan Nair explained them about the aims and objectives of Akshaya. According to team leader Anil Nath, “This is a new experience to us. We are impressed by this project and definitely will present it before Assam Govt”. They spend about an hour in Akshaya Centre.   More
